Have you ever found yourself in a place where doubts assail you, where the enemy relentlessly reminds you of situations that didn't turn out the way you hoped, especially when it comes to healing? It's in those moments that we need to cling to something solid, something unshakable—the truth of God's Word.
Scripture assures us that in Christ, we are redeemed from every curse, including sickness and disease (Galatians 3:13). Yet, when symptoms persist or memories of past disappointments resurface, it can be challenging to hold onto this truth. So, what do we do when faced with such doubts and fears?
The answer lies in the profound act of partaking in the holy Communion, a sacrament that symbolizes the body and blood of Jesus Christ. When Jesus instituted the holy Communion, He took the cup and "gave thanks" (Matthew 26:27). This act of thanksgiving, captured by the Greek word "eucharisteo," signifies expressing gratitude for something already accomplished.
It's no wonder then that the holy Communion is also known as the Eucharist. We give thanks for the finished work of Christ on the cross, acknowledging that everything we need for our healing has already been provided. Even when symptoms persist, we can give thanks and declare healing, knowing that "by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5).
The key is not to strive or struggle for healing as if it were something to attain. Rather, we receive it as a gift, already secured for us through Jesus' sacrifice. The victory over sickness and disease has been won; we simply need to appropriate it by faith.
Consider the faith of Abraham, who believed in God's promise of a son despite the impossibility of his situation. Despite his advanced age and Sarah's barrenness, Abraham trusted in the faithfulness of God. And as a result, Isaac was born, fulfilling God's promise against all odds (Genesis 21:5).
Like Abraham, we are called to fix our eyes on God's promises rather than on our circumstances. We are encouraged to strengthen our faith by giving glory to God and being fully convinced that He is able to perform what He has promised (Romans 4:20–21).
So, if you find yourself grappling with doubts about your healing, remember the example of Abraham. Fix your gaze on Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). As you partake in the holy Communion, thank Him for His finished work and expect physical deliverance.
May this blog serve as a reminder of the power of holy Communion and faith in unlocking healing in your life. Embrace the truth of God's Word, give thanks for His promises, and watch as He brings forth healing and restoration in every area of your life.
