At House of Mercy, Education is one of our biggest priorities.

We, as House of Mercy believe that education is very important to our children, that’s why we do our very best to see to it that these children receives serious attention when it comes to their school work and performance, House of Mercy has a daily program that includes teachings (bible study) to our children in week days as well as reading classes for children, where by some times they get a chance to be monitored while doing their home-work, school projects and assignments and receive help as well to complete their school work.
We believe that if we educate them, they will grow to be powerful and independent
Individuals in life, that way they will pass this to the coming
generation. This will reduce
crime, drag abuse and other
things that lead them no where in life.
Because of what we are doing here most of them have received awards last year (2012) for passing at a highest rate in class, good manners, dedication and for mastering some of their subjects in class. Here is the list of some of them :
- Murichen America : Roodewal primary school awarded for
LO and EMS.
- Leana Adams : Roodewal primary school awarded for
being in the top 10 rate in class.
- Nathene Adams : W.S.S Top grade 10 student in the
school.
- Hillary Kleyhans : W.S.S One of the best dancers in grade 8.
That is some of the things that encourages us to do even better, so it turn to be a great pleasure for us to go out there and try to find bursaries for them so they can further their studies. We even invite you to take part in any way you can. If you want to sponsor them with anything to brighten their future, you are more than welcome to do so.
Through the help of God we managed to find bursaries for some of them, and one of them managed to complete her office administration NCV programs in 2012 at the Boland college in Worcester, Marlene Malgas is her name . For that, we thank the Lord for giving them the strength to make it, and we thank him for making sure that their dreams will come true.
I met Mama Daphne through my mother back in Plettenburgbay where I am from in 2010 (Marlene Malgas tells her story in short). She told me about Jesus and how he can change my life and again she told me about what she is doing in House of Mercy and how can she help me become some one in life, I decided to give my heart to Jesus and to stay with Mama Daphne at House of Mercy. Through all the support they gave me I worked very hard to complete my NCV programme in 2012. Then I decided to work with them on making difference in young people’s lives. I would really like to thank God fo House of Mercy, and I know that more young people will benefit from this project. And I encourage you as a reader to stand up and take part on this because there are people out there who needs our help, and by standing together we can change their lives.
