Our existence changes lives!
It is a great honour for House of Mercy to know that our existence brings a great difference in South Africa and Worcester’s community, for House of Mercy has been and still a part of other people’s lives in a unique and wonderful way. As we have been growing on touching peoples lives, it turned to be the same to does lives that has been touched by House of Mercy’s existence. The following are some of the people that have been touched by House of Mercy’s existence and for that reason they too find it honourable to do the same to others.

Benson Hlophe
My name is Benson Hlophe From Welkom (Free State) I live in House of Mercy. I am a student at Boland college and I work as a volunteer in House of Mercy. Firstly I would really like to thank God for House of Mercy’s existence, for it is only because of his unfailing love that people are being touched by House of Mercy.
With the help of our Lord Jesus Christ, House of Mercy has brought a big difference in my life, for I come from a very disadvantaged family, raised by a grand mother through her social grant. Because of the circumstances that we where living under I began to be rebellious, and my grand mother lost control of me, that’s when I started doing my own things that led me to drug addiction, gangsterism and unsafe sexual activities. All of this almost took my life multiple times! But because of God and my decision of giving my life to Jesus, it did not happen.
I came here in Worcester through my cousin who introduced me to Mama Daphne in June 2012 , and one day she called me and told me about what she is doing in her project and how it can make a difference in my life. I listened to her, then I decided live with them. In 2013 she took me to Boland collage for a bursary application through House of Mercy. I received it, and now I’m studying Automotive engineering (NCV programme). It was my desire to study, but because of financial problems I could not. I am very thankful for all the support I get here in House of Mercy for it’s one of the reasons I am still standing. Let’s stand together and make a difference in each other’s lives. Supporting House of Mercy is not a mistake, but a solution to somebody’s problems!

Miss L. Matthase
My name is Miss L Matthase from Worcester, I am live and work as a volunteer here in House of Mercy. I have four children and one of them is my little baby girl that I live with here. I am a young lady who grew up with out a firm relationship with my mom, and that affected my life a lot because under does circumstances I found my self as a prostitute in the streets. Out of all that I got HIV and Aids.
One day I mate Daphne Oliphant and her husband Thomas Oliphant. She told me
about the love that Jesus Christ has for me. She told me that if I allow him to be a part of my life he will forgive me and my life will never be the same again. At first I never thought that he will really forgive me for I found my self not worthy of his forgiveness. I decided to give my heart to him (he forgave me and he changed my life), and she told me about House of Mercy and how they can help me. As a person who lives with HIV and Aids, I was very sick and weak because I was not taking treatment. Mama Daphne and Her husband helped me by taking me to doctor and made sure that I take the right treatment (Thomas Oliphant was the one who was responsible because he is a professional nurse).
House of Mercy helped me to start a new page of my life, and last year in 2012 I begot my fourth baby girl, she is healthy and I am so thankful that I am a part of her life because all my 3 children where raised up by other people.
I was a part of their lives, but now I know how it feel to be a great mom. I thank god for House of Mercy and I know that great things will happen here, people’s lives are about to be changed by House of Mercy’s existence!
